Having spent the first 31 years of his engineering career in conventional oil and gas fields, including 20 years in Alaska’s Cook Inlet, the author discovered a whole new world while spending 15 months on temporary assignment in the booming Bakken shale of North Dakota.
This presentation includes a brief overview of the development and potential of the Bakken resource play; impacts of the boom; and the author’s observations regarding the business climate in North Dakota vs Alaska.
